I created Cheyenne Shirt Company in 1984 to satisfy two passions. One for creating and
the other for the Old West. I set about creating clothing of the late 1800's. Also shirts
of the movie star cowboys. For 10 years I had great success with my clothing line, but I wanted
a new challenge.
As a child I used to like to watch the old western movies. Ah! The cowboys and their horses.
There were also the beautiful stage-coaches. I noticed the wonderful bags that the stage-hands
would throw onto and off of the stage-coaches. Some only canvas, and others wonderful
tapestries.
Several years ago a friend gave me an old leather Doctor's bag. A light went on for me -
here was the model for what I had seen in the movies as a child. After a bunch of searching
and a couple of tries at design I got it! My Tapestry Bags have been my main business
for six years. I construct each bag with great care. I hope you will be reminded of the
fine luggage created by skilled craftspeople of the days of old.
